THE TREE

I guess the proper way to post my first blog would be a poem I wrote about my wife of 52 years. The first year we were married, we lived in the small town of Tahoka just south of Lubbock, Tex where I grew up. We lived in dads rent house because naturally it was cheaper. The back yard ran right in to the back yard of the old home place and in the center of the yard was a tree. Following is the result of that tree: THERES A TREE IN TAHOKA WE BOTH KNEW---WHERE I CARVED OUR NAMES IN HEARTS WITH I LOVE YOU---WE WERE YOUNG AND SO IN LOVE NOW WEVE GROWN OLD---BUT I STILL BELIEVE THOSE HEARTS WERE CARVED IN GOLD---NOW THAT TREE HAS GROWN TALL UP TO THE SKY---AND IT STILL HAS THE MARK OF YOU AND I---AND I STILL LOVE YOU DARLING JUST THE SAME---AS I DID ON THE DAY I CARVED YOUR NAME---MANY MILES ON THAT JOURNEY WE BOTH MADE---AND THE MEMORIES WE SHARED WILL NEVER FADE---AND THE LOVE WE BUILT TOGETHER WAS SO TRUE---AND I COULDNT HAVE MADE THAT JOURNEY WITHOUT YOU---THERE IS NOTHING I WOULDNT DO FOR YOU---AND I KNOW THAT YOU FEEL THE SAME WAY TOO---AND WHEN WE REACH THE BRANCHES OF THAT TREE---IN GODS GREAT HOME IN HEAVEN WE WILL BE-------------------Well folks, 2texas paw paw signing off, and the good lord willing and the creeks dont rise, Ill be back tomorrow.
