Tales From Two Texas Paw Paw

Hi folks, this is 2 Texas PawPaw and the reason for this blog is I like to tell stories and try to write a little poetry now and then. Most of my writings is about my family because I have the greatest family in the world, I realize if you dont know my family, it might be a little boring to you but maybe my family will get a kick out of some of it anyway, Hope you like it and if you dont, well, thats ok too, you're still my friend.

"BUCK"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw with a truckers poem.-----I HEADED OUT OF AMARILLO ON I-40 IN MY OLD 18 WHEELER TRUCK---I OVERSLEPT AND MISSED MY LOAD ALREADY DOWN ON MY LUCK---I TURNED THE RADIO ON AND I HEARD THE ANNOUNCER SAY---COUNTRY MUSIC HAS LOST A LEGEND, BUCK OWENS HAS PASSED AWAY---I JAMMED ON THEM AIR BRAKES AND LOWERED MY HEAD TO THE STEERING WHEEL---AND THOUGHT TO MYSELF SADLY, WHAT A LOSS FOR BAKERSFIELD---BUCK OWENS LIVED HIS LIFE RECKLESSLY, AND LEFT SOME MEMORIES ALONG THE TRAIL---"STREETS OF BAKERSFIELD", "ACT NATURALLY", AND "I'VE GOT A TIGER BY THE TAIL"---HE THRILLED MILLIONS FOR 17 YEARS, IN THE SILLIEST SHOW I EVER SAW---HE SERVED AS CO-HOST WITH ROY CLARK EVERY WEEK ON A SHOW CALLED "HEE-HAW"---I PULLED FROM THE SHOULDER TO THE HIGHWAY, AND ONCE AGAIN STARTED MOVING MY TRUCK---MY TROUBLES NOW SEEMED NOTHING, COMPARED TO THOSE OF THE FAMILY OF BUCK---NASHVILLE AND BAKERSFIELD AND COUNTRY MUSIC, A BIG LOSS THEY WILL SUFFER AT BEST---EVEN IF YOU WEREN'T A FAN OF BUCK, IT'S SAD HE HAS GONE TO REST---SO LET'S DRIVE THIS 18 WHEELER, AND FOR BUCK OWENS, LET'S DRIVE IT RIGHT---THANK GOD THERE'S A BRAND NEW MEMBER, IN COUNTRY HEAVEN TONIGHT:-----Goodbye Buck, we will miss you. This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I will return.

Yes, that is sad that he passed. I never really cared for his singing that much but he always seemed like a really sweet man. Some people just have a sweetness about them, and he had it. His music will always live on though.
