Tales From Two Texas Paw Paw

Hi folks, this is 2 Texas PawPaw and the reason for this blog is I like to tell stories and try to write a little poetry now and then. Most of my writings is about my family because I have the greatest family in the world, I realize if you dont know my family, it might be a little boring to you but maybe my family will get a kick out of some of it anyway, Hope you like it and if you dont, well, thats ok too, you're still my friend.

"NANNY 2" (Superwoman)

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. Well, I guess if we ever needed to pray, this is the time.. As most of you know, Nanny II had a slight stroke and she is not the same Nanny II we are all accustom to being around. But, 87 years young (this coming December), thats probably considered normal. But forget not folks, she is a real trooper. I've known her for 55 years and I'll never forget the first time I saw her. I had had about two dates with Jo and went to her house one evening to pick her up. They lived on a farm in Lynn County and when I knocked on the door, this beautiful girl came to the door. Jo had told me she had three sisters and I thought to myself, wonder which sister this is. And brother did I ever say the right thing. "You must be one of Jo's sisters, now which one are you?" And she politely answered with a smile on her face. "No I'm Jo's mother but thank you for the compliment". That got me in solid through the front door and I have been her favorite ever since. I know I am. And for all I know, she may be a sister. God knows Jo and all her sisters are beautiful, and their Mother is the most beautiful. I'm sorry the trip got canceled for all you girls, but it will come later. A ladies weekend without Nanny II wouldn't be right anyway. She may never be able to go on the ladies weekend trip again, who knows, only God, but my advice is go ahead and plan it and go anyway because that is what she would want you to do. Don't ever let her think the trips were canceled forever because of her. That is a tradition that should be carried on from now on, even after some of you are gone. If you have time, send her a card or something. Just send it to Libby and Libby will see that she gets it.. She needs all our prayers and our thoughts at this time, and it would make her so happy. After all, she has been making all of you happy your whole life. You owe her. God bless a wonderful woman, our prayers are with her..........This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I will return.
