"FINAL 2005 POST"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw with a final post for the 2005 year. Today is New Years Eve and tomorrow it's time to make your New Years Resolution. It's not necessary to make several however you can make as many as you choose. One is enough, as long as you keep it, and, for most of us, that is hard to do. I would like to share mine with you and you are welcome to use the same one. We as humans, are witnesses. Like witnesses in a court room, we are called to testify. To tell what we have seen and heard. And we are to speak truthfully. Our task is not to whitewash nor bloat the truth. Our task is to tell the truth, PIEROD. There is, however one difference between the witness in a court room and the witness for Christ. The witness in a court room eventually steps down from the witness chair. The witness for Christ never does. Since the claims of Christ are always on trial, court is perpetually in session, and we remain under oath, twenty-four hours a day. My resolution for 2006 is to be that witness that God wants us to be. ACTS 1:8--(YOU WILL BE MY WITNESS, IN JERUSALEM, IN ALL OF JUDEA, IN SAMARIA, AND IN EVERY PART OF THE WORLD) The real Judge has spoken. It's time we listened to the entire testimony:-----This is Two Texas PawPaw, wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back, next year.

"SUNRISE"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. In continuing with our preperation for the new year, think about this for New Years Eve. It's called 'Sunrise' and it goes like this:-----AS THE SUN RISES OVER THE EASTERN MOUNTAINTOPS, THE BEAMS ARE BRAND NEW---NEW LIFE, NEW MEANING, NEW ADVENTURES, NEW MEMORIES, ARE ABOUT TO BE CAST ON YOU---DREAMS WILL SURFACE AS WE ELECT TO TREASURE HUNT A GREAT BEGINNING---AND KNOWING AS WE TRAVEL THROUGH A BRAND NEW YEAR, WE HAVE THE PLEASURE OF WINNING---AND AS WE JOURNEY ON THIS NEW ROAD, PEACE WILL DWELL IN OUR HEART---THE PAST WE REMEMBER AS LASTING MOMENTS, FOR OUR FUTURE IS ABOUT TO START---SO GO AND BE HAPPY AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS, AND BRING YOUR OLD ONES GREAT JOY---TRUST IN ONE ANOTHER IS SOMETHING SATAN CAN NEVER DESTROY---SAVOR PRECIOUS MOMENTS WITH FAMILY AND REMEMBER TO KEEP IN TOUCH---FOR YOUR FAMILY IS VERY SPECIAL AND THEY LOVE YOU VERY MUCH---SO COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS ONE BY ONE, SO MANY YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE---AND NEVER DOUBT YOUR FAITH IN GOD, HE ALWAYS WANTS TO SHARE---LEAVE YOUR SORROWS ALL BEHIND YOU, AND CLING TO HAPPINESS THAT LIES AHEAD---ALL YOUR MISTAKES ARE FORGIVEN NOW, MAYBE EVEN SOME THINGS THAT WERE SAID---AND WHEN YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED ALL THAT YOU CAN, AND YOU'RE SATISFIED YOU'VE DONE YOUR BEST---REST AND RELAX AND WATCH THE GOLDEN COLORS, AS THE SUN SETS IN THE WEST:-----This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"IT CAN BE A WONDERFUL YEAR"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. The year 2005 is about to come to a close. I hope it has been a good one for you and I hope you are already planning to make 2006 a better one. I am, and maybe my latest poem will help you. I call it "It Can Be A Wonderful Year", and it goes like this:-----THE YEAR 2005 IS SLOWLY PASSING BY, 2006 IS ON THE WAY---WE HAVE AGED ANOTHER YEAR AND OUR HAIR HAS A LITTLE MORE GRAY---THE KIDS HAVE ALL GOTTEN OLDER AND OUR BODY HAS A LITTLE MORE WEAR---AND SOME OF US ARE THANKFUL THAT OUR BODY IS STILL THERE---WE WILL CHARGE INTO THE NEW YEAR, VOWING TO MAKE IT BETTER---DESPITE THE JOYS AND PITFALLS, AND THE GOOD AND BAD WEATHER---BUT REGARDLESS OF ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT'S BOUND TO COME OUR WAY---GOD'S WILL IS GOING TO CARRY OUT, SO DON'T FORGET TO PRAY---AND TAKE WHAT'S IN STORE FOR US AS HE PLANS OUR NEW YEAR'S TRIP---AND AS YOU TAKE THE BAD WITH THE GOOD, DO YOUR BEST NOT TO SLIP---SOMETIMES YOU'LL FEEL HIM CLOSE BY, SOMETIMES YOU'LL THINK HE'S FAR---BUT WE KNOW IN OUR HEARTS HE WILL TAKE US, JUST THE WAY WE ARE---HE DOESN'T WANT TO LEAVE YOU THAT WAY, SO WE MUST PICK UP ALL THE PIECES---GOD'S PLAN FOR ALL OF US IS TO BE JUST LIKE JESUS---SO MAKE YOUR VOW FOR THE COMING YEAR, AND ALWAYS MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE---AND BE READY TO FOLLOW GOD'S REQUEST, EACH TIME YOU HEAR HIS VOICE---IF YOU FOLLOW IN HIS FOOTSTEPS, AND ALWAYS KEEP HIM NEAR---THE 365 DAYS OF 2006, CAN BE A WONDERFUL YEAR:-----This is Two Texas PawPaw, signingoff, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. The smoke from the chimney has begun to die out, and the flames in the fireplace begin to smoulter away. The lights are removed and the tree is boxed and safely tucked away in the attic. Company has left and returned home, and leftovers are spread on the table for a few of those who might still be hungry. All the outside decorations have been taken down and the new has already worn off of your gifts. Christmas, 2005, once again has come and gone. Just around the corner is a new year and time for resolutions. The work train begins again for many and for others, school isn't that far away. Loved ones and family members have added new memories for the future. Senior citizens seemed to have remained the same, middle aged adults haven't changed that much, all teens think they are smarter than last year, and the grandkids and younger ones have grown tremendously. The only thing remaining the same as all of our other Christmas's is the birth, celebration, and remembrance of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Let us not wait until next Christmas to put him in our hearts and minds, let us honor him every day of the year. This could be our New Years Resolution. What better way to thank Him for all he has done for us. This is Two Texas PawPaw, hoping that this past Christmas was a Christmas To Remember for you and yours.

"COPENHAGEN"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw and this morning I want to share with you the words to a beautiful love song that rates right up there at the top with Dolly's "IMAGINE". Whitney Houston's "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU" or Brad Pasley's "WHEN I GET TO WHERE I'M GOING". I wrote this for my friend Jerry and it goes like this:-----I GOT UP THIS MORNING AND THINGS WERE DRAGGIN', I REACHED FOR MY CAN OF COPENHAGEN, SLAPPED A PINCH UNDER MY LIP AND IT WAS GOOOOOD-----I CAN SPIT ALL THE WAY TO THE BIG DIPPER, GUYS DOWN AT THE BAR CALL ME 'THE LIPPER', IF I COULD FIGURE OUT HOW TO DRINK IT, I THINK I WOULD-----A FRIEND OF MINE, HER NAME IS TESS, THAT WOMAN IS A HELL OF A MESS, WHY SHE KNOWS KARATE AND ALL DIFFERENT KINDS OF KUNG-FU-----SHE DRINKS BEER FROM A COWBOY BOOT, CARRY'S A .45 AND KNOWS HOW TO SHOOT, AND YOU KNOW WHAT, SHE DIPS COPENHAGEN TOO!-----(chorus)-COPE-COPE-COPE-COPENHAGEN, IS SOMETHING I HOPE THEY DON'T STOP MAKIN-IF YOUR EVER NERVOUS AND START SHAKING-FILL YOUR MOUTH WITH A WAD OF COPENHAGEN-----THE PREACHER CAME OVER TO VISIT ONE DAY, HE WAS TALKING TO PAW AND I HEARD HIM SAY, WHAT'S THAT DRIPPING OFF THE CORNER OF THAT BOYS LIP-----PAW LOOKED AT ME AND SHOOK HIS HEAD, I LOOKED STRAIGHT AT THE PREACHER AND SAID, IT'S COPENHAGEN PREACHER, WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE A LITTLE DIP-----ANOTHER FRIEND OF MINE WHO LIKES TO RAMBLE, HIS NAME IS JERRY GAMBLE, HE'S PUTTIN' ALL HIS MONEY IN A 5 GALLON JAR AND SAVIN'-----AND ONE OF THESE DAYS WHEN HE GETS ENOUGH MONEY, HE'S GONNA DO SOMETHING I THINK IS FUNNY, HE'S GONNA BUY UP ALL THAT MOUTH-WATERING COPENHAGEN-----(chorus)-----SO IF YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE FOLKS WHO SMOKES ALL DAY, AND YOU'RE SLOWLY COLLAPSING YOU'RE LUNGS AWAY, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF ALL THAT SMOKE YOU'RE SPREADIN'-----I THINK IT'S TIME THAT YOU FOUND OUT, THERE'S NEVER EVER ANY DOUBT, THAT THE SWEETEST SMELLING TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH IS COPENHAGEN-----(chorus):-----That's it and I bet the tears are flowing by now. This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"A BOOK FOR GRANPA"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. Young Cody was a teenager in high school. He had completed his Christmas shopping except for one gift and that was for his Grandpa. Now Grandpa was not a rich man but he was one of those who had everything and was very hard to buy for. Cody ask his Grandpa what he wanted for Christmas, and Grandpa replied, "Maybe a good book to read". Cody ask what about and Grandpa told Cody to pick it out. Cody ask Grandpa if there was a peticular subject he like to read about. Grandpa said there were several, so Cody ask him to list a few subjects for him to choose from. Following is Grandpa's list; Law, Mystery, Romance, Love, Hate, Sports, History, Weather, Wars, Nature, Marriage, Medical, Religeon, Crime, Animals, Oceans, Seas, Birds, Ships, Financial, Entertainment, World Records, Children, Universe, Farming. Cody could not decide which subject to choose, Grandpa had listed so many. But on Christmas Day, when the family gathered to hand out gifts, Cody gave his Grandpa his gift. Grandpa opened and found a book that Cody had bought for him and told him that book should cover it all. When Grandpa opened the gift. he found a book and on the front it was titled, THE HOLY BIBLE. Cody was right, that book will cover it all.:-----God made it possible for us to have this great Text to refer to for any and every subject or problem that comes up in life. God also sent us a saviour. If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer. But our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us a Saviour. This Christmas, may you see and know anew how great His love is toward you. Luke 2:11 says, "For unto you is born this day, a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord". "MAKING YOUR HOUSE A HOME"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. My post today is about a new couple in town, Jerry and Kendra, and of course Little Kayleigh Faith. Jerry is on the job and completed his first week at Mac Supply Co. Maybe this will get them started on the right track, it's called "Making Your House A Home", and it goes like this:-----A HOUSE WAS BUILT ON DUNCAN STREET, IT'S BEEN THERE MANY YEARS---THE FAMILIES WHO HAVE COME AND GONE, SHARED HAPPINESS, LAUGHTER AND TEARS---A BRAND NEW FAMILY LIVES THERE NOW, STARTING THEIR LIFE ANEW---BEGINNING A JOURNEY TO LAST FOREVER, AND VOWING TO SEE IT THROUGH---AN ADDITION WILL BE ADDED SOON, A COMPANION FOR LITTLE KAYLEIGH---AND WITH LOVE AND TRUST AND PATIENCE, THEY WILL START THEIR FAMILY TREE---AND AS THEY TRAVEL THROUGH THE YEARS, CHERISH THAT BEAUTIFUL RIDE---AND DON'T FORGET THE REST OF YOUR FAMILY, WILL ALWAYS BE BY YOUR SIDE---KENDRA AND JERRY, MY WISH FOR YOU BOTH, IS TO EACH OTHER YOU'LL ALWAYS BE TRUE---AND NEVER FORGET AS LONG AS YOU BELIEVE, GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE TOO---THERE WILL BE BUMPS ALONG THE WAY, BUT YOU'LL NEVER BE ALONE---MEND THE BUMPS BY TRUSTING EACH OTHER, AND YOUR HOUSE WILL BECOME A HOME---WITH THIS I'LL CLOSE, AND LET YOU KNOW, WE'RE GLAD TO HAVE YOU AROUND---WE WISH YOU HAPPINESS THROUGHOUT LIFE, AND A WELCOME TO PAMPA TOWN:-----This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"A WEEKEND THOUGHT"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. Here is a little thought for you to cover the weekend with. I recently heard a song on video that was put out originally by John Lennon, and this video was by Dolly Parton called "IMAGINE". Perhaps you are familiar with the song. A line in the song says, "Imagine there is no Heaven". The Hebrew Writer gives us a National Geographic piece on Heaven. Listen to how he describes the Mountaintop of Zion. He says when we reach the mountain, we will have come to the city of the living God. "To thousands of Angels gathered together with joy.....To the meeting of God's firstborn children whose names are written in Heaven" (Heb 12:22-23) What a Mountain! Won't it be great to see the angels? To finally know what they look like and who they are?.....Imagine the meeting of the firstborn. A gathering of all God's children. No jealousy, no competion, No division.....We will be perfect, sinless. And then Imagine seeing God, finally, to gaze into the face of your Father. To feel the Fathers gaze upon you. Neither will ever cease. Imagine how great it will be when God whispers your name. I could never Imagine there not being a Heaven. Psalm 134:3 says, "May the Lord bless you from Mount Zion, He who made Heaven and Earth.-----This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back on Monday. Have a good weekend!

"THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. What is the Perfect Christmas? I'm quiet sure each of you have your own version. This is mine and I call it, "THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS"-----THE GLOW FROM THE LOGS OF THE FIREPLACE WERE FLICKERING DOWN THE HALL---THE RED AND WHITE CHRISTMAS CANDLES WERE IN THE WINDOWS WITH FLAMES BURNING TALL---MISTLETOE HUNG FROM THE ARCHWAYS, DECORATIONS ALL AROUND OF BRIGHT GREEN MOSS---ON THE MANTLE WAS A PICTURE IN A BRIGHT GOLD FRAME OF JESUS ON THE CROSS---A CHRISTMAS TREE GLOWING WITH COLORED LIGHTS AND PRESENTS SPREAD ALL UNDERNEATH---ICICLES ON THE ROOF, SNOW ON THE GROUND, AND ON THE DOOR WAS A CHRISTMAS WREATH---CHRISTMAS CARDS SPREAD ON THE COFFEE TABLE FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS AFAR---AT THE TOP OF THE TREE WAS A SMALL WHITE LIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE CHRISTMAS STAR---IN THE DINING ROOM, THE TABLE WAS SET, COMPLETE WITH A CHRISTMAS MEAL---PEOPLE WERE GATHERED, HOLDING HANDS, GIVING THANKS, AND EACH WAS VERY STILL---A FAMILY CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS TOGETHER, MOTHER, FATHER, DAUGHTER AND SON---AND GOD SPOKE TO EACH HEART ON THIS CHRISTMAS NIGHT BY SAYING-WELL DONE!-----This is Two Texas PawPaw with a wish for you and yours that this Christmas will be one to remember as a Perfect One. God Bless.

"WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. If you read Kathys post today, she suggested that everyone post 'What Christmas Means To You'. I think that is a wonderful idea, and it want take up too much of your time. Here's "WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME":-----First of all, and most important, is of course the birth of Jesus. That's what it's all about, yet we are all guilty of sliding away from the real meaning at one time or another, including myself. We should always put Him first and foremost in this Christmas and all the Christmas's ahead of all other activity. If we do this He will grant us a good Holiday Season. "WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME!" I think the memories more than the giving and receiving of gifts. Memories of all the past Christmas's. Take for instance the years we had at home, Mom and I and you and Royce. Just the four of us. And then think of all the people who have entered into our lives since then. Starting with Belinda and on down through the years. Think of all the great Christmas Days we have spent together, and the best part is, we are all still here. The continuation of being able to get together and celebrate means more than anything. And just think, by next Christmas, we will be blessed by TWO TEXAS PAWPAW IV, Kendra's new little one, and IT WILL BE A BOY!!! Yes, I think if you have Jesus, and recognize his connection with Christmas, and you have the greatest family in the world like I am fortunate to have, then Christmas is everything you could hope for. So I ask you, what more do you need. Merry Christmas All, I love you---Two Texas PawPaw.

"JUST NEWS"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. Just news this morning. Don Beard and his sweet wife came up from Lubbock Wednesday and we had a great supper at Bea's house. Everyone was there, Greg's bunch, Jerry's Bunch, Jo and I, and Royce and Bea. Had a good visit, Jo and I left early, as we are both still under the weather with our colds. Kendra and Angie left right after eating and I don't know where they went. No one said and I didn't ask. They were still gone when we left. Greg was chasing the two little one's up and down the stairs to the basement with a spanking spoon in his hip pocket. Royce showed a film of two deer locked together by their horns. The one on the ground was dead. Apparently they had been fighting. Joe Curtis finally got them loose by cutting ones horns with a hand saw. It was awesome. He could have been hurt bad. Don and Nelda are going to Amarillo today to have lunch with Lana. Maybe that relationship is finally going to come around. Hope so. I'll close with this. There has not been too many comments lately on anyone's blog. Is it getting old, or is everyone but me just busy. Pick it up kids, this is a good way to stay in touch, and I promise to quit boring you with so much poetry. Have a good day, and keep the faith. This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"THE MEASUREMENT OF LIFE"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. It will amaze you how things pop into your mind when the day isn't going as you would like for it to. My day started out bad for a few non important reasons, however, I thought it was really bad. It turned out to be a very simple problem which I solved quickly and it got me to thinking how we all jump to conclusions. Maybe the following poem will help you in the future when things don't start out right in the beginning of some morning. I call it "The Measurement of Life", and it goes like this:-----OPEN THE PAGES OF YOUR MIND--AND VIEW THE MEMORIES YOU LEFT BEHIND--THEN PICTURE THE FUTURE THAT WILL ALL BE NEW--AND THINK ABOUT WHAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR YOU--WE FIND THAT THINGS DON'T ALWAYS WORK OUT--WE TEND TO FORGET AS WE RUSH ABOUT--SO GATHER YOUR FEELINGS AND TAKE WHAT YOU GET--THE BEST LAID PLANS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SET--GOD IS THE LEADER OF OUR LIVES HERE BELOW--WE BEST FOLLOW WHEREVER WE GO--AND IF WE SUBMIT AND DO HIS WILL--HE WILL HELP US OVER THAT HIGHEST HILL--AND IF WE CLING CLOSE TO HIS SIDE--OUR HOPES AND DREAMS HE WILL LOVINGLY GUIDE--AND WHEN OUR JOURNEY FINALLY ENDS AT LAST--OUR FATHER FORGIVES US FOR ALL OF OUR PAST--HE TAKES US HOME TO LIVE FOREVER--WITH LOVED ONES AND FAMILY ALL TOGETHER--AND AS WE PASS THROUGH THAT BEAUTIFUL GATE--WE KNOW IN OUR HEARTS, IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT:-----This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"THE APPLES OF MY EYE"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. The more I am around my two great grandkids, the more I love them to pieces. They continue to surprise me everyday with something funny or unusual they come up with. Here's a little poem I jotted down for them last night. It's called "The Apples Of My Eye", and it goes like this:-----EVERYTIME I SEE THEM, I HAVE TO BREATH A SIGH---MY TWO GREAT GRANDKIDS ARE THE APPLES OF MY EYE---JOSHUA ALAN SANDERS AND KAYLEIGH FAITH ALVEREZ---TWO OF THE MOST PRECIOUS, NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS---THEY RULE THE ROOST AT THEIR HOUSE, BECAUSE THEY ARE SO SWEET---AND ANYTIME THEY WANT TO, THEY CAN HAVE A TREAT---THEY PLAY TOGETHER NICELY AND LOVE EACH OTHER TOO---AND NEVER GET INTO TROUBLE BECAUSE THEY'RE ANGELS THROUGH AND THROUGH---THEY'RE 2 YEARS OLD AND 3 YEARS OLD GOING ON TWENTY ONE---TWO OF THE SMARTEST LITTLE MINDS, UNDERNEATH THE SUN---AND TALKING UP A BLUE STREAK IS WHAT THEY'RE NOTED FOR---AND IF THEY DON'T TALK ENOUGH, THEY WILL JABBER A LITTLE MORE---THEY WILL PROBABLY END UP FAMOUS, TWO COUSINS WHO WILL BE THE FIRST---PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES AND QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE---AND WHEN THEIR TIME IS OVER, THEY WILL HEAD UP THROUGH THE SKY---AND I'LL BE THERE IN HEAVEN WAITING, FOR THE APPLES OF MY EYE:-----This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"GROWING OLD"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. Well, I will be limited to how long I can stay on here this morning because I'm back to being one eyed again. This patch will have to be worn for about three days, but the good news is I don't have to go back to the doctor for 6 months. I have recently became aware that the reason all these things are happening to me is because I am 'Growing Old'. But there is also comfort in that, because I found a scripture recently that gave me a different view of 'Growing Old'. Growing Old can be dangerous. The trail is treacherous and the pitfalls are many. One is wise to be prepared because you know it's coming. It's not like God kept the process a secret. It's not like you are blazing a trail as you grow old. It's not as if no one has ever done it before. If we just look around, we find we have ample opportunity to prepare and ample case studies to consider. If growing old catches you by surprise, don't blame God. He gives you plenty of warning and plenty of advice. Your last chapters can be your best. Your final song can be your greatest. It could be that all of your life has prepared you for a grand exit. God's oldest have always been among his choicest. That verse of scripture I refered to is found in ISAIAH 46:4---EVEN WHEN YOU ARE OLD, I WILL BE THE SAME. EVEN WHEN YOUR HAIR HAS TURNED GRAY, I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU.-----Yes, that is exactly what the Bible says, check it out! This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"PRECIOUS LETTERS OF THE ALPHABET"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. There are certain letters in the alphabet that are more precious to me than any others at this time of the year. They happen to be M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S H A P P Y N E W Y E A R. And here's why:-----M is for the many things that life holds for us all---E stands for every day we pledge to answer God's call---R is the right way to do things as we should---R is the realization that we've done the best we could---Y is for the youth in us, no matter what our age---C is for Christ who must always be center stage---H stands for the help he gives when things don't go right---R is for the radiant beams we receive from Heaven's light---I is for improving on the daily things we do---S means satisfaction when those things come true---T is for time we spend down on our knees to pray---M is for the mystery of his love for us each day---A means all seasons throughout each and every year---S is for our Saviour, who in our hearts we hold so dear---H is for Heaven where someday we will be---A means admission to that land of Eternity---P stands for possible which all things are with Jesus---P is for pleasure we will have when he sees us---Y means all the yesterdays that we will leave behind---N stands for new life in Gods heaven we will find---E is the easing of the mind and the soul---W is the wonder of a place where we never grow old---Y stands for years we have spent with family and friends---E is the exact second our new life begins---A stands for all the suffering we did when we were lost---R is the rising again after he died upon that cross---Put them all together and they become very clear---MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR:-----This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"COUNTRY MUSIC"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. My post this morning is for all you country music lovers. I've been a fan for 60 odd years and I hope you are too. If you're not, this probably doesn't interest you in the least. "THE TALLEST MOUNTAIN"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. How many of you out there ever have things come up in life that you think you just can't handle and there seems to be no answer or no way to solve the problem? We have all been there, and that mountain just seems to big to overcome. Here is a little tib bit to file back in your keepsake book and refer to when things come up that there doesn't seem to be an answer to. It's called "The Tallest Mountain", and it goes like this:-----AS YOU CLIMB THAT MOUNTAIN, DON'T EVER STOP---AFTER ALL, YOUR GOAL, IS TO REACH THE TOP---IT MAY SEEM LIKE IT'S FAR AWAY---BUT GOD WILL GRANT US ANOTHER DAY---HAVE FAITH AND BELIEVE IT CAN BE DONE---AND IN THE END, YOU CAN SAY "I'VE WON"---FROM THAT POINT ON, IT'S AN EASY SLIDE---IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO REACH THE OTHER SIDE---AND WHEN IT'S OVER AND YOUR GOAL YOU REACH---BE PROUD THERE ARE OTHERS YOU CAN TEACH---LIFE ISN'T MADE OUT OF FAME AND MONEY---THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN IS ALWAYS SUNNY---THERE ARE BUMPS IN THE ROAD THAT ARE SURE TO COST---THAT'S WHY HE HUNG ON THAT OLD WOODEN CROSS---AND ROSE FROM THE GRAVE TO LIVE ONCE AGAIN---AND HE DID IT ALL TO SAVE US FROM SIN---AND THOUGH THAT MOUNTAIN MAY SEEM TALL---TRUST IN JESUS WILL MAKE IT VERY SMALL:-----This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and, the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be back tomorrow.

"THE CURE FOR DISAPPOINTMENT"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. Is there ever a cure for disappointment? Psalm 18:30 says, THE WAYS OF GOD ARE WITHOUT FAULT. Make sense? When God doesn't do what we want, it's not easy. Never has been. Never will be. But faith is the conviction that God knows more than we do about this life and He will get us through it. Remember, disappointment is cured by revamped expectations. I like the story about the fellow who went to the pet store in search of a singing parakeet. Seems he was a bachelor and his house was too quiet. The storeowner had just the bird for him, so he bought it. The next day the bachelor came home to a house full of music. He went to the cage to feed the bird and noticed for the first time that the parakeet had only one leg. He felt cheated that he had been sold a one-legged bird so he called and complained to the store owner. The store owner replied, "What do you want, a bird that can sing or one that can dance"? Good question for times of disappointment. Remember, He Still Moves Stones!!! Just a thought for the day. "SO YOU DON'T LIKE CHRISTMAS"

KATY LOWERY WAS 12 YEARS OLD. SHE LIVED AT HOME WITH HER MOM WHO WAS IN BED ALL DAY BECAUSE SHE COULD NOT WALK. KATY TOOK CARE OF HER MOTHER THE BEST SHE COULD. HER FATHER HAD DIED A YEAR BEFORE FROM LUNG FAILURE FROM WORKING IN THE KENTUCKY COAL MINES. KATY'S MOM WAS BORN WITH CRIPPLING LEGS AND HAD BEEN BED-RIDDEN ALL HER LIFE. THEY LIVED IN A SMALL TWO ROOM SHACK AT THE EDGE OF TOWN, HAD NO FAMILY, AND RECEIVED A SMALL MONTHLY CHECK FROM THE COAL MINING COMPANY WHERE HER FATHER HAD WORKED BEFORE HIS DEATH SINCE HE WAS A BOY OF 18. KATY HAD REASONS TO LIVE AND PRACTICED EACH ONE EVERYDAY. SHE READ HER BIBLE, BELIEVED IN GOD, PRACTICED HER MUSIC ON AN OLD PIANO VERY BADLY OUT OF TUNE, AND LISTENED TO HER FAVORITE COUNTRY SINGER, ON OLD WAX RECORDS, PLAYED ON AN OLD RCA VICTROLA THAT NEEDED TO BE WOUND EACH TIME BEFORE PLAYING. SHE HAD THREE RECORDS, BADLY SCRATCHED, OF DOLLY PARTON SONGS. SHE HAD IDOLIZED DOLLY SINCE SHE WAS OLD ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND MUSIC. KATY AND HER MOM HAD AN OLD RADIO, AND SHE HAD LISTENED TO OTHER SINGERS BEFORE, BUT NONE COMPARED TO DOLLY. EACH YEAR FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS, SHE HAD SENT A LETTER TO DOLLY, WISHING HER A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND TOLD HER HOW MUCH SHE ENJOYED HER MUSIC. HER DREAM WAS TO SOMEDAY SEE DOLLY IN PERSON, BUT SHE KNEW THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN, BECAUSE, YOU SEE, KATY WAS CRIPPLED TOO. SHE MANAGED TO GET AROUND AND CARE FOR HER MOTHER IN AN OLD WHEEL CHAIR THAT ONE OF THE LOCAL CHURCHES HAD DONATED. A FEW OF THE LOCAL PEOPLE CAME BY FROM TIME TO TIME TO BRING FOOD, AND CHECK ON KATY AND HER MOM. OTHERWISE, KATY AND HER MOM WERE ON THEIR ON. IT WAS DEC 23RD, THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS EVE. THE WEATHER OUTSIDE WAS A LITTLE BELOW FREEZING, AND SNOW HAD BEGUN TO FALL COVERING THE GROUND OUTSIDE. AS KATY SIT BY THE WINDOW WATCHING THE SNOW FALL, A CAR PULLED UP OUTSIDE. KATY RECOGNIZED TOM SHAW, A FRIEND OF HER FATHERS, WHO HAD WORKED WITH HIM IN THE COAL MINES. TOM CAME IN THE HOUSE BRINGING GIFTS FOR KATY AND HER MOTHER. FOR KATY, A NEW BIBLE AND A NEW COTTON DRESS. FOR HER MOM, SOME NEW BOOKS, MAGAZINES, AND A BOX OF CHOCOLATES. TOM, KATY AND HER MOM VISITED BRIEFLY AND BEFORE TOM LEFT, HE TOLD KATY HE WOULD BE BACK ON CHRISTMAS DAY WITH A SURPRISE FOR KATY AND HER MOTHER. KATY WAS EXCITED AND SPENT THE REST OF THE DAY AND ALL DAY CHRISTMAS EVE THINKING CHRISTMAS DAY WOULD NEVER GET HERE. FINALLY IT WAS CHRISTMAS MORNING, AND KATY WAS UP EARLY AND SHE PARKED HER WHEELCHAIR NEAR THE WINDOW WATCHING FOR TOM'S CAR TO ARRIVE. SUDDENLY, KATY SAW TOM'S CAR COMING UP THE ROAD TOWARD HER HOUSE. TOM WAS PULLING A SMALL TRAILER. AS HE PULLED IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE, KATY NOTICED SOMEONE WAS IN THE CAR WITH TOM. AS THEY GOT OUT OF THE CAR, KATY COULD SEE CLEARLY THAT IT WAS SANTA CLAUSE. NOW KATY WAS OLD ENOUGH TO REALIZE THAT THIS SANTA CLAUSE THING WAS A DREAMWORLD AND A FANTASY FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN, BUT IF TOM HAD GONE TO THE TROUBLE OF FINDING A SANTA TO COME TO KATY'S HOUSE, SHE DECIDED SHE WOULD PLAY ALONG. TOM WENT BACK AND OPENED UP THE REAR OF THE TRAILER, AND TWO OTHER MEN PULLED UP IN ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE TWO MEN AND TOM BEGAN TO UNLOAD THINGS FROM THE TRAILER, AND THE FIRST THING KATY SAW WAS A BRAND NEW MINI SIZE G R A N D PIANO. SANTA CAME TO THE DOOR AND KATY LET HIM IN. SANTA WAS CARRYING A BAG FULL OF CANDY, FRUIT, AND NUTS FOR KATY AND HER MOM. AFTER THE PIANO WAS INSIDE AND PLACED WHERE THE OLD PIANO ONCE SET, TOM AND THE TWO MEN UNLOADED OTHER GIFTS FROM THE TRAILER. KATY NOW HAD A BRAND NEW CD PLAYER AND A COPY OF EVERY SONG DOLLY PARTON HAD EVER RECORDED. AS KATY WAS LOOKING THROUGH HER NEW CD'S, SHE SAW THE TWO MEN PUSHING TWO NEW WHEEL CHAIRS THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR, ONE FOR HER, AND ONE FOR HER MOM. KATY WAS SO HAPPY, SHE SIT DOWN AT HER NEW PIANO AND STARTED TO PLAY. SHE PICKED OUT A SONG THAT SHE DID NOT HAVE A COPY OF UNTIL TOM BROUGHT THE NEW CD'S, BUT SHE HAD HEARD IT ON THE RADIO SO MANY TIMES, SHE HAD LEARNED TO PLAY IT ON THE PIANO. IT WAS CALLED "I BELIEVE IN SANTA CLAUSE". JUST AS SHE BEGAN TO PLAY, SANTA CLAUSE BEGAN TO SING THE WORDS. MUCH TO KATY'S SURPRISE, THE VOICE SHE HEARD WAS THAT OF A WOMAN. AS SANTA SANG, SHE REMOVED HER CAP AND FALSE BEARD AND BEHOLD, SANTA CLAUSE WAS DOLLY PARTON HERSELF, IN PERSON. KATY SPRANG FROM HER NEW WHEEL CHAIR, RAN ACROSS THE ROOM, AND JUMPED INTO DOLLY'S ARMS. NOT ONLY WAS THIS THE BEST CHRISTMAS KATY EVER HAD, SHE SUDDENLY REALIZED, THAT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HER LIFE, SHE COULD WALK. AND KATY BEGAN SINGING THE WORDS TO THE SONG WITH DOLLY. DOLLY SPENT THE ENTIRE DAY WITH KATY AND HER MOM. TOM CAME BACK LATE THAT EVENING TO PICK DOLLY UP, AND AS THEY DROVE AWAY, KATY STOOD IN THE DOOR AND WAVED GOODBYE. -----I have been noticing on the blogs lately that some of you out there don't care for Christmas or other holidays other than just another day off, and I got the feeling that some of you don't think Christmas is real. Just ask Katy Lowrey, she knows.

"THE KING IS HERE"

Hi folks, this is Two Texas PawPaw. Anytime you refer to someone as the KING, most people think you are referring to 'ELVIS", but not in this case. The KING in this case is JOSHUA ALAN and I have the pleasure of keeping him for the next few days while his mom has gone to "BIG 'D'" for the Dolly Parton concert. First of all, he will be treated with royalty and will have his way about any and everything. I will spend this entire time seeing how much I can spoil him. Kakie Bear will probably be right in there assisting me in anyway she can. I know for a fact his "Nana" is jealous because if she had her choice between keeping Josh and attending the Dolly concert, she would be here. So you people eat your heart out, because we are about to have a ball around old KIOWA PLACE the next few days. Between Tarzan, Cowboy, Piper, Janie, Josh, and Kakie, it ought to be quiet interesting. WISH ME LUCK!!! This is Two Texas PawPaw, signing off, and the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise, and a stroke don't set in, I'll be back tomorrow.
